: It is thought that the current church of 1763 is on the site of a late Saxon church. The church was extended to the east in 1888. The large amount of earth and burials resulting from the works was heaped up in the centre of the graveyard to create an L-shaped mound. Originally I found this mound intriguing, but since realising that it is recent, I have come to believe that this alignment is more likely to be coincidental despite the great accuracy.
